So Why Do You Wear It Anyway? Perspectives On Hijab from Muslim WomenOn May 10th, 2007, the Buxton Initiative was honored to invite four young professional Muslim women working in the Washington,DC region. Dina Badawy, Ala'a Wafa, Aminah Mohammad and Cami Nichols each told of their own experiences with hijab, a term often used in reference to the practice of modesty in Islam. The event was opened by Jacki Waring, a Falls Church Fellow, and moderated by Sarah Hassaine, a Public Policy candidate at George Washington University.
