Our hope is that through candid dialogue, people with differing beliefs will build trusted, solid friendships that lead to greater understanding, partnership in life and work, and a more civil global community.

Through various programs and outreach, the Buxton Initiative works to build bridges and establish relationships among people of different faith communities with an emphasis on trust and friendship.  Buxton seeks to model dialogue where controversial and difficult questions are encouraged and to provide a space in which relationships are facilitated and leveraged for other projects and initiatives.  Such dialogue must go beyond superficial exchanges that, while socially comforting, are ultimately insufficient and are easily undone when conflict arises.  Over the past several years, the Buxton Initiative has monthly assembled people from all walks of life, from high-level leaders to students to young professionals, to dialogue on important issues.
